Weatherford Cutters Name Michael Rosario Head Coach
Weatherford, TX — The Weatherford Cutters are proud to announce Michael Rosario as the organization’s new Head Coach, bringing a diverse playing background, a passion for player development, and a strong commitment to community impact to the program.
Rosario, a Houston native now residing in Azle, Texas, joins the Cutters with experience both on the field and in the dugout. At just 26 years old, he has already built an impressive coaching résumé, working across multiple levels of the game, from youth leagues to select teams and now the collegiate summer level.
“I’m married to my beautiful wife Jamie and a proud father to my daughter Kambrie,” said Rosario. “Baseball has always been a huge part of my life, and being able to give back to younger athletes the same way my coaches and mentors poured into me means everything.”
Rosario’s playing career includes standout achievements at Morton Ranch High School (Texas 6A), where he was a three-year letterman, a two-time All-District selection, and earned Third Team All-Houston honors in 2018. He went on to play collegiately at Salem University (NCAA Division II) before continuing his career at East Central University (NCAA Division II), where he showcased versatility by starting at eight different positions.
Now stepping into his role with the Cutters, Rosario sees the opportunity as both personal and impactful. “Representing this organization means the world to me,” he said. “It’s a chance to give back to these college athletes while working alongside GM Brenden Cook to continue growing the game here in Weatherford. Since moving to this area, you can really see how much the community rallies around its teams, and I’m excited to be part of that.”
Rosario’s vision for the team is rooted in competitiveness and resilience. “Success this year will be about competing every inning of every game and setting the standard for the future,” he said. “We want to be known for our grit, getting knocked down and getting back up stronger and smarter. We have a great group of players from across the country, and our goal is to compete for a championship in the Cowboy Collegiate League.”
Beyond the field, Rosario is eager to build meaningful relationships with his players and continue growing as a coach. “I’m excited for the opportunity to learn from these athletes as well,” he said. “Coaching is a two-way street, and I’m looking forward to helping these guys move forward in their careers while also growing myself.”
Rosario also emphasized the importance of community engagement and long-term impact. “We want this team to represent continuous improvement and a positive impact on the community,” he said. “It’s about pushing ourselves every day, not just in baseball, but in life, and inspiring younger athletes to chase their dreams and one day be in these same positions.”
With his energy, experience, and dedication to the game, Rosario is poised to lead the Weatherford Cutters into an exciting and competitive season.
The Cutters look forward to the leadership Rosario brings as they continue building a program centered on development, toughness, and community pride.
